Before and after - main bedroom (a work in progress!!!)

Again the before photo is from when I bought the house.....I keep emphasising this as I don't want anyone to think that I would live like this :-) See even the photos don't show how bad this house was when I first moved in but it did have good bones! And I just loved the bay window in this bedroom.

Well after a good clean - paint - a lot of paint!! - new carpet - shutters and lights the room now looks like this...

Ahh...that's a relief....but I did say it was a work in progress, this picture is definitely missing a headboard... stay tuned for a tutorial on that.

This painting beside my bed is one of my favourites, it was painted by a wonderful Dutch painter and family friend Claes Kraak, a very talented man.

The bedside tables are on the replacement list but for now they will have to do....I have been saying that for a while they actually predate my second child...maybe even my first child... so they are between 20 and 25 years old, not too bad when you consider their age!!!!

This room is my sanctuary...I can curl up on this chair to read, or blog or dream!!!! I made the slip cover recently, I will write about it soon in a new post. The original fabric was very pretty but quite old and was beginning to tear in a few places.

I just looove chandeliers!!! I couldn't resist this one when I found it .... in a dress shop of all places!!!

This is my office area...when no1 child moves out I will finally get a proper office again. I don't like the colour of this desk in this room but as I am not sure how much longer I will need it I have decided not to paint it just yet...too many other projects on the go.

My inspirational tiles on the wall....dream...believe....says it all really!!!!

Just to update the bedroom here are some latest images of the new look! The above tiles have gone, the wall has been stencilled, just a few things to go!
